And yet you have no problem using the product? Nope, sorry, we've had just about enough of that. To all of those who are so quick to put a hate on for the Oil Sands in Alberta, we have a new plan. When it comes to the Northern Gate pipeline, we are going to do away with the 18 months of environmental grandstanding and make it really simple for you.
We will vote on it. All residents in Alberta and B.C. will have a vote. Everyone who votes will be given a card, we'll call it the "Prosperity Pass". A vote for the pipeline will get you a "Priority Prosperity Pass", with this pass, all products and by-products produced using oil will be available to you at fair market price.
Those who oppose the pipeline will be given a "Pissing on Prosperity Pass" and will be charged five times the fair market price, the money generated by the "PoP Pass" will be used to make up the billions of dollars lost if the pipeline does not go through.
But then, we all know that the people who are so quick to denounce the Alberta Oil Sands, are the same people who will shut the hell up when asked to put their own money where there cause is.

"I'm sorry ma'am --you're on the 'green list'. You don't qualify to purchase the new laptop/cell phone etc. You see their cases are made with oil, the minerals in them are mined and processed using oil, and then they're transported around the world with oil. Here's an abacus/tin can with string for you."

You also have to remember that you dont want any of these people benefitting from the spinoff money from the pipeline.
True, of course, they would be the first ones in line for any money generated by the line.....
Isn't that always the way?
The term "Count me out" is on the looney lefty's mind until money comes into play, then it's a different tune.
Delusional thinking on their party is a one-way street.
Like some of the other provinces I don't need to mention, we don't like it but continue to send the spinoff capital.
Well, things are about to change drastically and those provinces can either agree and/or shut up.
20 million billion inklings in a clue and most of these greenies don't possess an inkling. Go figure!
Seems your main problem is your own premier who is now playing footsy with Charest having already done it with McLiar.
That's a fine idea, and one I'd like to see expanded.

I was once the object of scorn in a lefty university (yes, I suppose that is redundant) for owning a pick-up truck. Das lefties didn't like my pointing out that their frequent international flights to Europe & Asia meant I had a smaller carbon footprint than they did.
No no, they cried. Owning a Ford Ranger so that I could haul things around and do some contracting on the side? That's excessive, wasteful --you should take transit. Taking a 777 to Thailand to ride an elephant with all the other tourists and picking up a new iPhone to keep connected? That's just authentic, socially conscious behaviour...y'know?
I´m a BCer, pro-oilsands development and pro-pipelines OK. BUt it is more than Alberta Oil. If you care to be neighbourly, you don´t stomp all over the neighbour because you demand to get your way. Politeness and patience go a lot further than "You´re irrelevent" and "My way or the highway".
There is no relief from the hearing process so sit back, have a coffee and sharpen your pencils we are in for a year or more of breathless warnings from the hug a treehugger and save the earths climate nonesense.
No disrespect meant for BCers, anon.
But BCers did just approved, without a hitch and with the support of these same Native bands and little enviro protest, a 470 klm pipeline from Summit Lake (northeastern BC) to Kitimat, for the new Liquified Natural Gas Plant, for export to Asia via tanker up the BC coastline.
Once again why I can’t stress enough as to why Alberta should separate from Canada and say goodbye to all the eastern greenies, B.C. hippies and the French.
